Primary Rx is simple to use, occupies a very small area within the practice and does not impede patient flow. Revenue from generic medication sales is retained in the practice, instead of going to local pharmacies, and patients have the convenience of obtaining medications without another stop. Unlike most other supplemental revenue programs, Primary Rx does not take the provider outside the boundaries of direct patient care, and measurably increases patient satisfaction from the encounter.
Primary Rx is a point-of-care medications dispensing system that incorporates:
- Real time Insurance Verification - verifies insurance and co-pay information in real time. This process insures that the practice will be reimbursed, and eliminates post-dispensing insurance denials.
- Automated Insurance Adjudication- Provides direct billing functions and reimbursement management for prescription medications dispensed at the practice. Primary Rx has contractual relationships with most of the pharmaceutical payers, and provides direct billing and reimbursement processes without the need for practice staff involvement.
- Discounted Cash Sales – Patients without insurance can save both time and money by having their prescriptions filled in-house.
- Includes all Providers – Mid-level providers are included in the Primary Rx program.
- Higher Patient Compliance – With Primary Rx, 100 percent of the prescriptions that are filled at the practice are documented as being provided directly to the patient.
- Increased Patient Satisfaction – Primary Rx provides immediate medication dispensing (no waiting at the local pharmacy).
- Customized Formulary Creation – Each Provider within the practice will develop a formulary of the most frequently prescribed medications. This formulary includes specific strength and quantities for all generic medications and the formulary can be expanded or reduced as needed.
- Increased Office Efficiency - Instead of continuous interaction with local pharmacies, the practice staff can concentrate on patient care and retaining of profits through the use of Primary Rx. Nearly half of the pharmacy interaction can be eliminated, therefore, no additional staff is required to operate the Primary Rx program.
- No EMR Needed – While Primary Rx is an excellent addition to a practice EMR, one is not required to utilize the program.
- e-Prescribing – Primary Rx is applicable for e-Prescribing (utilizing Sure Scripts Technology).
